My Sunday Walk

Mom started to take me for a walk with Maddie today. Since we get along so well mom tried walking us on a coupler, so she only had to hold one leash. Here's a picture of us.

It was going okay for a few minutes until I raised my leg to pee on a bush, and Maddie walked right into the stream. Then she tried to get away from it and she was actually under me while I was still peeing. Then she backed out of her harness. Then mom took us both back to our house so she could clean Maddie up and spray her harness with Nature's Miracle. Then she got out a martingale collar and another leash for Maddie and we did go for a walk.
We saw this BIG moth!
Then Maddie came back to our house to rest and drink some water while her harness finished drying, and then we took her back to grandma and grandpa's house. It was a big day and we're all tired from the long walk in the heat.

Walking With Maddie

My mom's grandma and grandpa moved into a retirement community near us. They are watching my mom's cousin's dog while she works on weekends. Mom called them today and said that since she was taking me for a walk, we could stop by and get Maddie so she could walk with us. So Maddie came on a nice long walk with us.
Maddie is a chocolate lab mix. She's shy, but she liked walking next to me. Mom brought along some chicken treats to encourage Maddie to walk with us, and they helped. We met a few other dogs and sniffed a lot of things, and had a really good time. Time to rest again!

Exciting Walk and a Flock of Geese!

It was so nice and comfortable outside today that mom took me for a nice long walk. We walked around the smaller lake, then crossed the street to walk around the bigger lake. The first thing we saw was geese - LOTS of geese!

Then we met some of my old friends, a man who has a little dog, and a small Chow who are both very friendly and like me a lot. We visited with them for a little bit. The Chow talked to me a little, but she was a little too warm to play. Then we saw our friend James and his Beagle, George. James is a very dedicated dog owner. He is recovering from surgery, so he can't use his prosthetic leg right now, but he was on crutches, and taking George for a walk. I wish there were more people who were such dedicated dog owners.
I'm going to go rest in my crate now. That was a long walk!

About the Media's Coverage of Michael Jacksosn

First it was Jon and Kate. Then Michael Jackson passed away, and the media just won't stop talking about it. Really...they won't.

Let's hope they listen!

Sign Petition Against Reinstating Michael Vick in NFL

NFL commissioner Goodell stated that remorse might lead to Vick's reinstatement. Apparently Vick has stated that he cannot pay his bills working as a laborer for $10 an hour. Due to the fact that a revised bankruptcy plan would take even more of his income, it is likely that Vick will try to be reinstated into the NFL.
Please contact NFL Commissioner Goodell at:
Roger.Goodell2@nfl.net
(212)450-2000 or(212)450-2027
and let him know how you feel about Michael Vick being reinstated to the NFL. You can also sign this petition and share it with all animal lovers you know. Thank you!

Have a Safe 4th of July!

I want to remind everyone to have a safe and happy 4th of July. Remember to make sure all of your pets are wearing collars and tags, and that their microchip contact information is up to date. Remember to keep your pets safely in the house over the next few days when fireworks will be set off, since many pets get scared by fireworks displays and try to run away.
Just to show you what a good Husky I am, here is a picture of me leading my friends at day care in a howling session!
