Rescue Event Today

Today my mom and I went to the Walk for Paws in Columbia, Maryland at Lake Elkhorn. Harnessed to Hope Northern Breed Rescue had a booth there. It was HOT!!!. It is a very pretty park though and we had lots of fun. We even got to see Alexa, who was adopted from Harnessed to Hope by a family in Columbia, MD at the end of August. She was there with her new family and her new brother Cayman. You can see some pictures of them here, they are both beautiful white Huskies!

AND, I got to see Meeshka again! I met her about a year ago at another event and our silly moms forgot to get a picture of us together! So today mom was determined to get a picture of us together. So here it is, Indy and Meeshka together to help Huskies in need!
Click to enlargeThe idea was that we could each take turns wearing the donation vest, but Meeshka is so, uh....fluffy, that the vest won't close in front. So I wore it all afternoon. My mom and grandma brought the vest home and they are going to make one of mesh so it's cooler. Meeshka and I charmed people and drew them over to the booth. We also chatted with some other dogs.

Then Meeshka was kind enough to guard the cash box while we all packed up the merchandise.

It's been a long day, I'm going to go nap!

  2. Looks like you had a fun day :-) Meeshka is very ahhhhh...fluffy :-) I wish I was fluffy - rather than "big boned" ;-)

Mum got your mums email and she will organise to get the recipe book once we get this move out of the way - she doesn't want it to arrive whilst we are between houses. Thanks to your mum for offering to sort it out for her - she appreciates it :-)

  5. Hey Indy, I hope that treat that human gave you behind your human woman's back didn't give you an upset stomach. I got pizza crust when we were waiting for you to arrive.

Sorry about the vest thing... I had to poof up really fluffy and claw the human woman... that thing is too hot, and it doesn't match my jade eye.

  6. That is the trouble with those vests. There is such a range from petite, quick Huskies to the super-sized, fluffy wheel dogs, and no vest can fit them all well.

Are you okay meeting other doggies? Looks like there were some interesting ones there!

  10. Great job! I love Meet and Greets. I think fluffy dogs should unite. I've been called fluffy a few times too. Maybe Meeshka and I need to discuss that.

  12. Wooos, Indy
You guys look hot. If I had been there, I could have demonstrated squeaking & de-stuffing one of those cute husky stuffies on the table. Hope the event was a big success. Every husky needs a home!

  13. Hi! I just found your blog. Until a year ago, I was lucky enough to share my home with a big, beautiful red-haired husky who looked a lot like you, you handsome devil. I'll check back to see what you're up to.
