FEMA Holds Animal Rescue Forum

FEMA recently hosted a gathering of government officials and representatives of animal welfare organizations at which the rescue of animals during and after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita was discussed. Read more here.

  1. I'm glad so many animals were saved. We had groups even here in Canada and home here in London, Ontario that went there to save animals.
    It's kind of funny. So many people love animals, yet so many people hate Pit bulls.
    I hope they saved all the Pit bulls and huskeys too!!! YEAAAAA!

    Thanks for the link. The more my secretary reads and hears about FEMA and local agencies it appears that the individual needs to take more responsibility for the safety of their own families and pets. 'Be prepared' as they say. We should all make sure that our humans have prepared an emergency kit for themselves and for us. So make sure that your medications, some food, toys, blankies and water make it into your humans E-kit. And make sure that you wear your tags all the time. And get chipped. I have a microchip so if I loose my humans I can find them. I still think it is a good idea to chip our humans. It sure would have helped after Katrina and Rita.
