2006 is The Year of the Dog!

I read on my friend WoofWoof the Husky's blog that 2006 is the Year of the Dog. How cool is that? Although personally, I think it should be more specific, like the Year of the Husky...

Click to enlargeThis article talks about how people in China, Japan and Korea are honoring the animal of the year. Many dogs are starting the new year by going to the beautician! This Afghan hound, Nancy, is getting the full spa treatment from Miyuki Taba of Koza Kennel, who has been Nancy's beautician since she was a puppy.

I'm glad I don't have to go to a beautician! Mom brushed me the other night and put paw wax on my paw pads, and that was enough beauty stuff for me!

  1. I've never heard of paw wax! Amazing what one learns. And I (as a person) was born in a year of the dog, so I feel a special kinship.

  2. Happy New Year, Indy! Wow! Year of the dog. That's really neat. You do not need to go to a beautician. You are a natural beauty! Woof!

  4. What's paw wax, Indy? Being a cat, I wouldn't know. You were awfully nice on my blog and my sister Sanjee's blog, so I thought I'd try making a doggie friend. I put your link on my blog too. Please don't bark at me, that makes me nervous. :)

  5. Hi Boni!

Don't worry, I won't bark at you, but I'll talk to you! I like to talk, and I love kitties! I am great friends with my Uncle Joe's kitty. We play together a lot.

Paw Wax is for northern breed dogs that have tough paw pads that are used to walking on ice and snow. In the winter our paw pads can get dry and crack, so sometimes we need paw wax to keep our paw pads from getting too dry. It works real well, and it feels nice when mom puts it on, it's like a foot massage!

I added your blog to my blogroll, thanks for linking to me!
