Puppies are Not Presents!

My mom put a post on the Harnessed to Hope Foster Dogs blog about how it's not a good idea to give dogs, or any pets, as holiday gifts. Check it out and sent it to anyone you know who is thinking of getting someone a pet as a gift for the holidays.

Huskies are for Life, not just for Christmas!
This has been an Indy Pindy public service announcement.

There's the beef! Also, just because it's so freakin' cool that I get to eat this stuff, here is a picture of my dinner tonight. Some canned pumpkin with digestive enzymes and a nice, juicy beef rib!

I was a Christmas present! Well, sort of. I just happened to be FOUND on Christmas Eve, so I guess I was chosen, rather than given.

Just wondering, how does your human make sure you get all the necessary nutrients by feeding raw? Do you get a vitamine to supplement?

  3. Hi Holly,
I don't take any vitamin supplements. My mom gives me acidophilus and digestive enzymes mixed with the canned pumpkin.

My mom read "Give Your Dog a Bone", which talks about how you can make sure your dog gets the vitamins, minerals and nutrients it needs through it's food.

Great reminder in the newsletter, Indy! We'll be sure to share it. Did your mom really write it this time, or did you ghost-write for her again?
Oh... and send that meat back to the kitchen and get them to cook it! Ha roo roo roo!

  5. Noooooooo!!! I like it raw, just the way my wild cousins eat it! And that way I can eat the bones. They are very nutritious.

I just might have to link to that newsletter too! I just discouraged TWO people at work from giving puppies as gifts.. and then gave them information on how to pick a responsible breeded and where to find local breed and mixed breed organizations. Good Work!

How cool of you to make a post like this. We completely agree with you and also try to discourage people we know from giving any living thing as a present. We are living creatures... not objects! My humans got me at the end of July and they can't imagine having to go out every two hours like they did with me at first... in the cold and the snow! Or with holiday guests and holidays events! Great job spreading the word, Indy!!

  12. My mom says that meal you got there doesn't look too appetizing to her. She'd rather eat cooked umpkin pie!!!

  13. Mom says that looks disgusting but I think it looks just grand! Mom gives me prozyme powder for my gut and it works great. There is a can of pumpkin here but she never opened it, does it taste yummy?
